The night vision of the ‘Orient that starts and ends in Venice’ imposed itself upon me and that is where I wanted to go.” perfumer Jacques Polge.
In 1984, there was Coco, that sumptuous blend of wood, resins, flowers, spices and fruit.
One night, when Charles Swann, a friend of his grandparents, is visiting, his mother cannot come kiss him goodnight.
He stays up until Swann leaves and looks so sad and pitiful that even his disciplinarian father encourages "Mamma" to spend the night in Marcel's room.
In the opening is balsamic then sweet rosy yet spicy is quickly appear.Coco Noir was created by Jacques Polge and Christopher Sheldrake. I don't think this is a sexy perfume, and it is not really office appropriate.I imagine someone wearing it maybe at the airport, maybe at an art gallery...It is divine and pure luxury and smells like what Coco Noir should smell like. The balsamic sweet base is strongly present on me at the end of the day. There is heavy emphasis on the orange note and the underlying salt adds a sweet softness. Grapefruit, bergamot, francincense, geranium, rose, patchouli, fruit and an added kick of sandalwood. I love the bottle, because it suggests a sweet, balsamic and woody parfum with strong personality, but it doesn't fit to the parfum I smell on my skin.
